Erin Knabel has been devoting every spare minute to finding her sister Andrea, since she went missing on August 13, 2019. She has led an online and local campaign to spread awareness. Along with her father Mike Knabel, they have checked into every tip and sighting reported to them.
August 2019
Andrea Knabel was living in her mother's home in the Audubon Park neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. She was saving money to get a new place and recover from some financial hardships that had taken place.
Sarah (Andrea's sister) and Ethan (Sarah's boyfriend) were also staying at the home doing renovations, including the bathrooms. The bathrooms were not in full working order during the renovations so Andrea's mother was staying with a friend overnights.

9:00pm - Andrea's mother left to go to her friends house, Andrea wanted to go to McDonalds and the ER for a rash/infection on her face. Ethan drove her to McDonalds.
9:50pm - Ethan dropped Andrea off at the Emergency Room.
11:34pm - Andrea took a Lyft back to her Mom's house but could not get inside because the door was locked so she walked to her sister Erin's house. Erin lived nearby, an easy 20 minute walk.

12:00am - Andrea arrived at Erin's house. They talked for a while.
1:00am approximately- Erin's friend stayed with her children while she drove Andrea back to their Mom's house. When Erin returned home, her friend left and she went to sleep.
1:30 - 2:00am Andrea made several phone calls to friends looking for a ride.
1:30am approximately: - Andrea returned to Erin's house saying the door at their mothers' house was locked and she could not get in. Erin talked to her again for a few minutes.
1:38am - Andrea left to walk back to her mother's again. This was the last contact the family had with Andrea.
Google Dashboard shows she made it back to her Mom's house and according to Erin; the rest is evolving and currently under further investigation.
Andrea's cell phone has never been found. Her credit and debit cards have never been used. There have been no solid leads or tips to try to help determine where she could be. The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) has possession of Andrea's laptop and social media accounts.
Andrea was struggling to get back on her feet after the financial hardships. She had possibly turned to drugs or was having a mental health crisis. The family was in the process of trying to get her some help when she disappeared.
Andrea was a volunteer with an organization to help find missing persons, Missing In America (MIA). (No affiliation with our Missing In America Network.) While it is unknown if that had anything to do with her disappearance, the family does not believe that was a contributing factor because she was not actively working a missing person case at the time of her disappearance.
LMPD conducted an in depth search of Andrea's mothers home and property. They have interviewed all family members, including Sarah and Ethan.
Mike and Erin have offered to take polygraphs for the LMPD but it has never been scheduled by LMPD. It is unknown if Ethan and Sarah have been asked to or offered to take polygraph's. Only LMPD would know the answer the this.
Ethan and Sarah have chose to not be actively involved in the search for Andrea. It would be speculation for any person to state the reason for this.
