No matter what you’re facing, there is a way back — your story isn’t over, and home is still waiting

If you're reading this, you might be feeling overwhelmed, scared, angry, or just done.

Maybe things at home feel too hard, or no one seems to understand what you’re going through. You might be thinking about leaving—or maybe you've already left. Either way, we want you to know one thing:

You matter. And you don’t have to face this alone.

Running away might seem like the only option, but there are people out here who care about you and want to help—without judgment. There are safe places to go, people to talk to, and ways to get support that don’t put your safety at risk.

Whether you just need someone to listen, a ride home, a place to stay, or help navigating a tough situation—we’ve gathered real resources here that are made for you. The resources on this page are here to help you find support, explore safer options, and decide what to do next.

We're here for you.

You’re not a problem. You’re not a burden. You’re not broken.
You’re a person going through something hard—and you deserve help, hope, and healing. Whatever brought you here doesn’t define you. You matter. You’re not alone.

There are people who care and want to help, without judgment.

We’re here for you—always.
To listen, support, and walk with you toward safety and a better future.

what do you need right now?

You don't have to figure everything out by yourself.

If you're overwhelmed, scared, angry, or unsure what to do next, there are people who will listen and help you think through your options.

I NEED A SAFE PLACE TO GO

If you don't feel safe where you are or don't have somewhere safe to stay, help may be available.

A trusted youth service can help you find safe options in your area.

I WANT MY FAMILY TO KNOW I'M SAFE

I WANT MY FAMILY TO KNOW I'M SAFE

You may not be ready to go home or talk directly with your family. The National Runaway Safeline can help you explore ways to communicate safely and may be able to help you reconnect when you're ready.

Runaway Safeline

I'M AFRAID TO GO HOME

I WANT MY FAMILY TO KNOW I'M SAFE

If going home doesn't feel safe, you deserve to have those concerns taken seriously. Talk with a trusted adult or youth service about what is happening and what safe options may be available.

SOMEONE IS HURTING, THREATENING OR CONTROLLING ME

SOMEONE IS HURTING, THREATENING OR CONTROLLING ME

If someone is hurting you, threatening you, forcing you to do things, controlling where you go, or making you feel unsafe, help is available. If you're in immediate danger, call 911.

Child Help Hotline

I'M WORRIED ABOUT GETTING IN TROUBLE

SOMEONE IS HURTING, THREATENING OR CONTROLLING ME

Being afraid of what might happen can make it harder to ask for help. You can still reach out. A youth crisis counselor can listen to what's happening, explain available options, and help you think about your next safe step. Y

This pamphlet provides essential, youth-friendly information for teens who may be thinking about running away or are already in crisis. It includes contact details for trusted, confidential services like 1-800-RUNAWAY, Safe Place, Love is Respect, the NAMI Teen Helpline, and the 988 Crisis Lifeline—all available 24/7 to provide support, shelter referrals, emotional help, and safety planning.
We encourage youth groups, schools, shelters, libraries, and community centers to print and distribute this flyer to at-risk teens. It can be handed out during outreach events, included in care packages or welcome folders, or displayed in high-traffic areas like bathrooms, common rooms, and teen lounges. A single flyer could connect someone in crisis to the help they need—and even save a life.

Every step forward is one we take hand in hand.
